Hi Cazz. Excellent! Wonderful site!. I loved looking around it inc your new Shads web site design. Thanks for helping to keep the sound of the Shads alive. Take care and keep doing it. Tony x

Greetings from Los Almos  New Mexico! My name is Tony Chan.  I came across your very interesting website while looking for information on how to sound like Hank.    Maybe I should give up as I have been told  that Hank will never sound like me.!  I want to write a short note to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading your site. You have done a wonderful job in supporting instrumental music. I am also impressed by your directness and choice of words. I mean it in a positive way,  as it should be considered a reflection  of your honesty and sincerity.   Please accept my best wishes for good luck and good health. Take good care! Tony Chan

Thanks Cazz  Still running the best Shadows site on the web I see.   The so called "official" Shadows site seems to have "bit the dust" but yours goes from strength to strength........... Alan Prudoe   www.vintagesixtieslive.co.uk

Cazz – To see The Shadows play live this year was a thrill, to be able to relive the concert experience every night in my living room is a treat via the DVD… ...thank you for your brilliant Web Site I visit often - Bill

Hello Bananas!  I came across your website quite by chance a few weeks ago when I changed by computer and had to reload my favourites. There are a number of other Shadows websites which appear to be patronized by a load of anoraks making picky comments about in what key a tune is played or the thickness of strings for example. I have been following The Shadows for 44 years and there music has stood the test of time. Your website is by far the best I have come across.  The comments from Brian and Warren Bennett about the DVD clearly illustrate the point I made above. I had the pleasure of going to the Bournemouth concert and the DVD brings memories flooding back. I have read all the criticisms made and cannot agree with any of them. The DVD is pure magic both in sound and vision and sounds great on my new surround sound television.    Keep up the good work.  Roger Curd

Cazz ....Keep up the good work on your web site....

Hi Cazz ...... a quick line to say thank you so much for the work you have been putting into your web site. Brilliant ....
I have been following the Shadows latest tour of course, and have really enjoyed looking into your pages on this ...by far the best on the web ......   It surely cannnnnnnnn't be the last Shads concert can it!  They're too **** popular!   Doug Turnbull

Hi Cazz,   Just thought I’d say how much I enjoyed reading the latest Warren interview.  ....... I like the site – it really has matured since I last past through.  Best wishes.   Bob Gregory

Dear Cazz,   Hi my name is Jez from House Music Ltd and we represent Lakewood Guitars in the UK. A short while ago you had some great shots of Hank Marvin using a Lakewood Guitar ........ and we would like to use some of these pictures within the UK guitar press.........

Hi Cazz .......Just checked your web site out for the first time. I like it and found it better than most that I seen on the Shadows and related sites..... Pat Terrett  Mustang Music

Hi Cazz,  Just found your site and have been reading all morning at work, just could not stop (my boss is out today) looking at the pictures, reviews etc. Like you I'm a big Shads/Marvin/Bennett fan and have seen them on many occasions and they inspired me to play guitar and drums (not at the same time). I have all the gear red fender with Kinmans, EFTP unit and Vox, White Yamaha drum kit,  I guess I turned into a Hank/Brian wannabees (very sad but who cares) .  I just thought I would send you this note to say a big thank you and compliment you and hope you keep going. I like you have to laugh and cringe with embarrassment) sometimes at some of the comments made on other sites by so called fans, what ever must the shads think about these people? .......  In one of your articles you mentioned a possibility of a DVD of old Shads stuff from the early days this would be real winner I think, it would be nice if there was some technical info, like amp setting , guitar settings etc. Just thought I would mention this as you probably have some point of contact with whoever may produce the DVD. ...... .....Off to see Eric Clapton tonight you never know who you will bump into at a concert, sat with Ben Marvin at Cambridge during the 2004 Shads gig, nice lad.  Kindest regards  Tim

Best Shadows site on the web. ......Anyone who doesn't agree can quite simply bog off.....!  Nigel Firth

Cazz.................... You must spend countless hours on your website .... in order to enable fellow fans to share their passion for all things Shads related. It's what it's all about. you genuinely do it for the love of doing it. I certainly appreciate your efforts - so I'll say 'Thanks' again. And it was a super interview with Warren - thanks for sharing it with everyone. Keep up the good work........ Rob Bradford

Hi Cazz, ..your ShadowsFanSite is highly respected, your efforts

in sharing a mutual enthusiasm & love for the music is very

much appreciated... All the very best. The Evening Shadows.

Hi Cazz, I thought I'd drop you a line and tell you how much I've enjoyed your coverage of the Shads last tour and thank you for all the hard work you've obviously put into it. I've been a fan since Wonderful Land came out in 1962 and have seen them many times since, including five times on this final tour - and it's very nice to know via your website that so many other people feel the same about their music. I'm a (part-music) journalist, which means I've been able to review many of their albums for Q and Mojo over the years and the greatest day of my life was interviewing Hank for The Guardian back in 1984 but I'm rather out of all that these days so I've found your website invaluable in making me feel a part of The Shadows community over the past year or so. I was in the front row on Bruce's side (with Rob Bradford) on Sunday at Birmingham and it seemed to me that they were enjoying themselves far too much never to play together again, unless all their personal differences rear their ugly heads again, but in any case I'd bet my house on their being a Cliff And The Shadows 50th Anniversary Tour in 2008. So keep that website good and ready!  Best regards Colin Shearman

It was always a good site, but it seems to have gone up a level or two. Well done.    Pat Seaman

This  site is a fantastic tribute to the Shads. I only managed to see them twice this time, but they were superb. One will never forget. And thanks to you there will always be pictures and other people’s thoughts to look back on.  Do hope that they will all in their separate ways continue to make great music that we can enjoy forever.  Many thanks for your efforts.  Incidentally  have just realised that the picture that backs your guestbook was taken in my home town at the Assembly Hall where I first saw Hank and Ben perform the exiting "A Tall, A Tall Dark Stranger" Pity they never released it not even a DVD of the tour. But it was great!!!!!   Neil Clark

I look forward to meeting you at some time. Nice folks like you deserve to meet me! Keep it up Cazz, this what people want...  Alan Bakewell

Great website to find all the info you want on The Shadows in one place - so many useful links - All the details of the 2004 concerts under one heading make it easy find the one you're looking for. Photos and write ups are really excellent.  Thanks Cazz for all your hard work producing this great site. Phil McGarrick  http://www.bungleflint.co.uk/

Cazz, May I firstly both congratulate and thank you for a brilliant website - making the so called 'official' one look absolute rubbish in comparison.  Being of 'mature years', I can still vividly remember seeing Hank & Bruce play at the 2 I's coffee bar when I was still a lad at school in 1958. Me and my mates were of the opinion, then, that Hank could make a guitar talk. 47 years later, nothing has changed!   One of the things that is really nice to see is that fame and fortune still hasn't changed the Shads - always willing to sign autographs and have a quick natter with the fans. An everlasting memory of mine is a gig in, I think, 1961, called 'Rock Across The Channel'. This was aboard an old paddle steamer going from Southend to Calais. Throughout the crossing, there and back, Hank Bruce & Jet mingled freely with the fans, posed for goodness knows how many photographs, and a great time was had by all. I seem to recall that Tony Meehan suffered from sea sickness, and probably why he stayed in a cabin. The freebie gig outside Calais Town Hall (there's a photo of this in Mike Reid's book) was an absolute knockout performance. ......... I saw the gig at Brentwood last year, which was the best I had ever heard them play, despite Hank's well known views on the venue, and endorsed by Brian in his diary! I was too late to get tickets for the Palladium, but got in quick as so as soon as the 15th May Birmingham tickets went on sale! I don't think this will be the last UK performance. Looking at the Birmingham 1984 gig video with Cliff, his parting shot is 'See you in 25 years'. I make that only 4 years to go, and am sure that Cliff would not want to be accused of telling any porkpies! Put another way, even the great Spanish guitarist, Andres Segovia, was over 80 when he finally stopped playing! Once again, congratulations on a great site, and keep up the good work.    Best Regards  Steve Evans

Hi Cazz, Just found your website this sunny morning (it is here in New Zealand). I have been playing for over 40 years and have a top Shadows tribute band in New Zealand. I was extremely surprised to hear and see the quality on this DVD. I did see some of those "whinging" comments and just ignored them. Who are these people? I travelled 12000 miles especially to see the
concert in Leicester on 19 May. Worth every cent I paid to get there! Loved the comments from Warren Bennett.  I continue to play and enjoy seeing these "masters of their craft" on such a memorable DVD, a worthy record of my special effort to get there and share in the enjoyment of the occasion. Also now have my re-issue Burns Marvin, to join with my two "Hank" strats. Long may the good music reign. Keep up the good work.  Sincere regards,  Garry Miller, Auckland, New Zealand

Looking through all the 'sites', I reckon Cazz deserves credit for the tour reports, pictures, sense of fun and general enthusiasm about The Shads tour this year! Hope you enjoyed Brighton Cazz, I'd love to have seen a picture of you when they started 'Shazam'!  Anyway, keep on, keeping on....! Warren Bennett

...I thought your web site was FAB.  One of the biggest disappointments in my life was that I had to miss the final tour show at Newcastle, so to see the pics. from there was great. I also enjoyed B.B,s diary entries especially for the Toon. nMany thanks.   Steve Corbett
