Received via the Official Cliff Richard web site this week. " Help get 21st Century Christmas to No 1! On sales so far this week, Cliff's single is positioned to enter the charts at No 2. But we want him to be No 1! This weekend's chart is his only chance, as next week's chart is bound to be dominated by The X Factor winner. Take That are currently more than 5,000 ahead of Cliff with sales of their single, and Gwen Stefani is only 300 behind him. Cliff needs a really big sales push over the next couple of days to help him get that landmark No 1. If he makes it, he'll be the first - and probably the only - artist ever to have No 1 singles in each of six decades. Do buy copies for your family, friends, neighbours, postman, milkman (and even your enemies)!! And please urge any of your friends who are Queen or Shadows fans to buy it too, because they'll enjoy the Move It track which features Brian May and Brian Bennett. And please buy before the shops close on Saturday to ensure that the sale counts in this week's chart. (Downloads don't count - the sale has to be across the counter.) Thanks to you all! Cliff Richard Organisation" So you my loyal web site readers pop out and by your copy now. ShadowsFanSite has bought 10 copies ! (I kid you not!) Incidentally the Move It track is a FABULOUS version |

Via the ICR www.cliffrichard.info ".........On 11th December EMI Catalogue (UK) releases a 'double A' single. Track 1 Move It taken from the new album "Two's company - the Duets". This is a brand new recording of Cliff's first ever hit in 1958 written by Ian Samwell. Cliff, together with Brian May from Queen on guitar and Brian Bennett of The Shadows on drums, returned to Abbey Road studios to re-work the song that launched Cliff's career in 1958. The result is a sensational track that could well bring Cliff an equally huge hit second time around! It really rocks and will raise some eyebrows! |

I was contacted yesterday
by Richard's Record company in respect of his artists new recording which
features a certain Mr Marvin. "..... I thought this might be
of interest to you and other fans. Hank features on the brand new
Richard Hawley single due out at the end of October, on a song entitled 'I'm
Absolutely Hank Marvin'. This is the b side to Richard's single Coles
Corner. For those of you who don't know Richard Hawley, he's a life long fan
of Hank and the Shadows and he's absolutely honoured that Hank has agreed to
play on his song. Richard has been likened to Scott Walker, Elvis and Roy
Orbison and creates the most beautiful music. Go to
www.richardhawley.co.uk for more info...."

- ".....The
Shadows have just completed work on a new recording that will be released on a
double compilation CD album to support their up and coming tour. The new
recording is a Jerry Lordan composition entitled "Life Story" which seems an
effective and poignant choice for what may be The Shadows' final recording as a
band. Warren Bennett organised the arrangement and since the beginning of
January, Bruce Welch, Mark Griffiths and Cliff Hall worked in Brian Bennett's
Honeyhill Studios laying down their parts. In January the track was sent to Hank
Marvin in Perth, Australia, in order that he could lay his definitive lead
guitar part on it. It returned in a few days and, finally, Brian put his drums
on back at Honeyhill. The track was mixed and the job completed on January 21st.
Needless to say, all involved hope that the faithful Shadows fans will be happy
with the end result...."Courtesy
